Rangers arrest political party official, recover 2000 bullets buried in ground

Personnel of law enforcement agencies and security forces have continued operation against the criminal elements in Karachi as the officers recovered as many as 2000 bullets that were hidden by criminals by burying deep in the ground in Lines Area.

According to details, Rangers raided the Lines Area on the identification of already arrested suspects and dug up the ground, confiscating bullets of sub-machine gun (SMG), 8mm pistol and G-3 assault rifle.

Rangers have also apprehended as many as four suspects including a criminal belongs to a political party. The security men have also arrested a criminal in wounded condition after an alleged encounter at Eidgah. Police said that the arrested suspect is linked to Lyari Gangwar.

Law enforcement agencies also conducted an operation at Jamshed Road and held an official of a political party while two terrorists were nabbed from Korangi and Landhi areas.

Sources said that the criminals have contacts with Al-Qaeda while they have also worked for Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. Both criminals were also involved in the target killings of more than 10 policemen.

Separately in Karachi’s Defence area, Rangers also apprehended two militants whereas weapons including two hand grenades and stolen motorcycle were also recovered from their possession.

The senior police official stated that Karachi operation was launched by government which is giving positive outcomes as dozens of extortionists, target killers and terrorists have been held so far. He said that stern action will be continued until the end of last criminal.
