Police killed 40 outlaws in 2015: report

The district police Hyderabad have gunned down 40 outlaws and arrested 200 others in injured during the year 2015.

The spokesman of the district police while issuing the annual performance report informed that the police carried out over 240 targeted operations in different parts of the district. The outlaws who were shot dead and arrested in injured conditions were involved in heinous crimes including police encounters, kidnapping for ransom, murder, dacoity and rape. During the period under report, the spokesman informed that over 200 gangs of criminals were busted with arrest of 652 criminals and five hoarders.

The police also arrested 134 criminals involved in extortion, street crimes and threatening the traders and shopkeepers, he said, adding that 56 stolen vehicle lifters and 35 mobile snatchers were also apprehended during the last one year.

Besides, he informed that 47 proclaimed offenders and 800 absconders involved in murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping for ransom, dacoity and highway robbery were also nabbed by the police. A total of 1,118 thieves involved in theft in houses and shops and 2,847 persons involved in other crimes were also arrested by the police.

The spokesman informed that 538 pistols, 12 kalshankovs, 22 short guns, 37 repeater guns, 35 revolvers, seven rifles with large quantity of ammunitions were also recovered with seizure of 20 vehicles, 30 motorbikes, four kilograms of opium, over two kilograms heroin powder, 150 kilograms hashish, 50,000 kilograms bhang, 4,000 bottles of illicit liquor, 1,600 litters and 19 gallons homemade illicit liquor from the possession of criminals.
