The recent case of a father running from pillar to post with his sick tiny daughter clutched in his arms in her last moments when her life was draining out was a heart rending experience. The hospital was closed and the helpless father was turned away from every gate ending in the sad death of the child. The ultimate responsibility was that of the Chief Minister’s and the hospital administrator’s who failed miserably to look after a patient in an emergency. To lose one human life without a right reason is like killing a whole human race but who cares for a poor man’s child when the high-ups are attending a function in a public hospital.
If the CM Sindh had an iota of self respect he would have resigned at the incidence which was an epitome of neglect and heartlessness but who would convince the provincial head that human life is sacred and it is the fundamental right of a person in this Islamic Republic of Pakistan to safeguard the life of a person. Perhaps the life of high-ups is more important than a poor man’s who is now being pacified with visits of high and mighty but all this coddling could not compensate the loss of a dear child in her infancy. The charge of omission and commission of a crime leading to death of a poor man’s child could only be ameliorated by instant resignation of the CM.
