NEPRA approves Rs 2.6 cut in power price

National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Tuesday issued a notification of a cut of Rs 2.60 in per unit price of electricity.

According to a statement by Chairman NEPRA Tariq Sadozzai, the price reduction has been announced in the wake of fuel adjustment price for November 2015.

Due to decreased prices of furnace oil, the cheaper electricity was produced however the customers were charged at the same rate this November.

The electricity supplying companies collected an extra amount of Rs 2500 billion which will be returned to users in January 2016.

This cut in electricity price will not be applicable for K-electric customers.
