Moderate 4.7 magnitude earthquake shakes Swat, Shangla

A moderate earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter Scale shook Swat, Shangla and adjacent areas early Tuesday morning.

The tremor was also felt in Islamabad. According to the seismological centre, the epicentre of the quake was 26 kilometres east of the town of Bisham at the depth of 10 kilometres.

Fear and panic has gripped the residents as people came out of their houses when the incident happened. No loss of life or damage to property was reported.
