Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Monday ignored his government’s orders against protocols for VIP movements and caused a traffic jam.
According to details, two days after saying ‘no’ to VIP movements on the roads, Sher Shah Suri Road was completely blocked for traffic for ten minutes as the chief minister’s convoy left from the Archives Hall.
Car began queuing up on the road and motorists looked perturbed because of the traffic jam that was caused by the security protocol.
Earlier on December 26, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Secretary issued a notification, which stated that the provincial government had abandoned undue and extra protocols and restrictions, and would not be blocking public roads during VVIP and VIP visits. The order was passed throughout the province to avoid causing any inconvenience to the public.
The move came after a 10-month-old child died outside the Civil Hospital Karachi, apparently because of the security protocol arranged for Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah. PPP leaders were present at the hospital to inaugurate a new trauma centre.
The father of the child claimed that he was not allowed to enter the hospital, which led to the death of his daughter, as she was not given timely treatment.
