Poor veterinary services: 9 rare animals, birds died in Marghzar Zoo in six months

A total of nine precious animals and birds died in the Marghzar Zoo of the federal capital during the last six months due to poor veterinary services and lack of proper care by the concerned staff.

According to details, Nilgai (female) died of Dystocia (membrane rupture inside uterus) in September this year. A black Buck (male) also died in September due to Maggot wound present at pelvic regions at two sides and also internal injuries due to cannibalism.

In August 2015 a grey Wolf died for unknown reasons. In the same month, an Urial suddenly died due to cardio vascular failure, the zoo sources claimed.

Other precious birds that died in the past six months included common Peafowl, golden Pheasant, mallard Duck and white Duck.
