Opposition Leader in National Assembly Khursheed Shah on Saturday alleged that the federal government was depriving the Sindh province of its constitutional rights, adding that the Sindh situation could also affect the federal government.

Talking to media in Sukkur, the opposition leader held Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif responsible for the “constitutional crisis”, saying the premier should not remain silent and intervene to resolve the issue.

He said the prime minister was going to meet with the Sindh chief minister on December 28, but the Interior Ministry did not wait of that meeting and went ahead and issued a notification about policing powers for the paramilitary Rangers instead.

Shah said the prime minister had been informed about the reservations of the Sindh government.

About the Dr Asim Hussain case, the opposition leader said that the case was already with the anti-terrorism court.

To a question about Modi’s visit, the PPP leader welcomed the visit and said that the prime minister should take Parliament and nation into confidence over his talks with his Indian premier.
