Regional peace imperative for economic progress: Ahsan

Minster for Planning Ahsen Iqbal said that regional peace was imperative for economic progress in the country, state media reported on Sunday.

The minister was talking to different delegations in Makkah Mukarramah, reports said. The minister said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor had multiplied responsibilities of Pakistan. The project had enhanced strategic importance of the country in the region, he said.

Ahsan Iqbal said new projects in energy and infrastructure would give a boost to economic activities. He said Pakistan had the potential to join the top 25 economies of the world by 2025.

He said the government was providing all possible financial assistance to the youth to enable them contribute to national progress.
