Police complete DNA test of suspects involved in gang-rape case

Police Sunday completed the DNA test of detainees involved in molestation of a 15-year-old girl in Lahore.

The apprehended criminals would be presented before the court on Monday.

Meanwhile, police have also conducted raids while tracing the location of key suspect Adnan’s mobile. Security personnel have conducted various operations in different districts.

Earlier, gang-rape victim recorded her statement before the police in which she named Education Minister Rana Mashood’s personal staff officer (PSO) as main suspect.

Mashood denied having any knowledge about the alleged culprit.

The DIG Operations said three teams have been formed to investigate the case. He further said that police are raiding different areas in Lahore to apprehend the criminals.

Police have arrested six suspects after registering a case with Racecourse Police Station.

On December 25, a youth was allegedly intoxicated and raped by as many as six to seven persons in a guest house on Mall Road. The victim was shifted to a hospital where the medics confirmed sexual assault.

The girl, belonging to Rana Town area of Multan Road had gone to see a tailor along with her brother. According to her mother, she went missing from there and later was reported to have been raped.
