Gas outages persist in Lahore

Continued gas outages and low pressure in Lahore have irked residents who have demanded the local administration to resolve the issue as early as possible.

The locals said that the tall claims of government officials had not assisted them in living normal life during the winter season due to gas shortage.

They said that Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) personnel had assured them of uninterrupted gas supply for breakfast and dinner timings but that the citizens were still faced with the same problem.

They said that the gas supply to the CNG pumps and industrial areas had already been suspended on the name of providing it to the domestic users.

Earlier, residents in various cities of the country had staged protests against prolonged gas load shedding.

The people had taken to the streets in Rawalpindi’s Dhamial, Ahmadabad and Quaid-e-Azam Colony to record their demonstration against the government for failing to ensure basic facilities to the common man.

They had said they had been facing gas outages and it had badly impacted their daily routines. Separately in Multan, gas-stricken locals had burned tyres near Khooni Burj Chowk and staged a sit-in.
