7,000 cops deployed for BB death anniversary security

 

Around 7,000 policemen, including 25 SSPs, 300 women cops and commandos, will be deployed in Garhi Khuda Bux to provide strict security to people and dignitaries expected to participate in the eighth death anniversary of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto on December 27 (today).

About 220 check posts will be established along the roads leading to the final resting place of Bhutto leaders. Surveillance cameras will also be installed in Naudero and Garhi Khuda Bux to monitor the situation. Also, some 700 traffic police personnel will ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

The security plan for BB’s eighth death anniversary was finalized in a meeting at the Larkana SSP office.

SSP Kamran Nawaz Panjotha told newsmen that foolproof security arrangements would be provided to the participants of the anniversary.

He said that the paramilitary Rangers may also be called for providing support to further strengthen the security.

Kamran said that police patrol would be intensified on Naudero-Garhi Khuda Bux, Garhi Khuda Bux-Ratodero and Madeji-Garhi Khuda Bux roads. He said that sniffer dogs would also be used along with installation of walkthrough gates while watch towers and aerial surveillance would also be made upon the arrival of the top leadership.

He said that checking of all vehicles would be done at bus stands, railway stations. The SSP further said that a control room would be established for coordination and to monitor the entire security plan.
