Prime Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has asked the nation to seek guidance from the lifestyle and upright character of their founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and transform Pakistan into a model state with the prevalence of peace, brotherhood, moderation, patience and protection to minorities’ rights.

To achieve such an objective, the nation has to struggle collectively against extremism, intolerance, sectarianism and all kinds of prejudices, he said in a message on the 139th birthday of our founding father Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

He said that today the nation was celebrating the 139th birthday of the Quaid, who positioned himself as a tall beacon of light by waging a long struggle in the freedom movement launched against subjugation.

The prime minister said that Quaid-e-Azam had taught us to follow democratic norms as he himself led a life replete with untiring struggle within the confines of the law and constitution.

“He held that a sound democratic system based upon public aspirations could guarantee solidarity, prosperity, and stability of Pakistan,” the prime minister added.

The young generation had always been the centre of Quaid-e-Azam’s expectation, the prime minister said, adding that he hoped that the youth of the country would equip themselves with better education and devote their energies to realize the dream of their founding father.

“There can be no better tribute to the founding father than by making Pakistan a prosperous, stable, and eminent,” he said.

The prime minister said that due to Quaid’s leadership, Muslims in the Sub-continent were united and achieved freedom.

“On the day, the nation should also recall Quaid’s message of unity, faith, and discipline which helped in breaking the shackles of year’s long subjugation. Even today, this message also guarantees progress, prosperity, and stability of Pakistan,” he said.

Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain also urged the nation to forge unity in their ranks, defeat forces of extremism and militancy, and uphold the principles of democracy, constitution, and rule of law.

In a message on 139th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the president extended heartiest felicitation to the nation, particularly when the country has embarked upon the path to progress as envisioned by the Quaid.

“Let us dedicate ourselves, on this historic occasion, to keep the unity of the country and glory of Islam uppermost in our thoughts and deeds,” he said.

President Mamnoon said Quaid-e-Azam’s boldness and sincerity of purpose, determination, and integrity endeared him to the millions of people who gave him all-out support in the marathon struggle for the creation of Pakistan.

“His nobility and strength of character will ever remain an eternal source of inspiration and guidance for all of us,” the president said.

The President said Quaid-e-Azam united the discordant elements among the Muslims of the sub-continent, welded them into a nation in a short time, and secured for them a separate and independent homeland.

“The Quaid was a paragon of uprightness, honesty, integrity, and courage of conviction. He neither compromised on principles nor allowed expediency to influence his judgment,” the president said.

“His incorruptibility unquestioned and his scrupulous honor universally acknowledged,” he said.

These pre-eminent attributes endowed him with clarity of vision and steadfastness of pursuit for the achievement of the Islamic State of Pakistan, the president said.

He said that the nation today was not merely paying homage to the memory of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, but was also reaffirming its abiding faith in his imperishable teachings.

“Let the Quaid’s teachings ‘Unity, faith, and discipline’ be a beacon for us, for all times to come. May Allah give us the courage and strength to build Pakistan into a truly democratic state. Ameen,” the president said.
