US drone strike kills three Taliban fighters in Nangarhar

A U.S. drone strike has killed three militants belonging to Taliban while security forces arrested two fighters of Daesh group in eastern Nangarhar province.

A statement released by the police headquarters of Nangarhar states that the three militants killed in drone strike belonged to a local Taliban commander by the name of Saif-ud-Din.

According to the statement, they were targeted in Atewishtama Wyala area of Ghanikhil District.

The press release further states that police arrested two fighters of Daesh group during a raid in Pandola area of Achin District.

They are identified as Ashiqullah who is originally from Balkh province and Mohammad Sabir hailing from Maidan Wardak province.

Ashiqullah and Mohammad Sabir were previously members of Taliban.

Another report from Nangarhar province suggests that police foiled a kidnapping plot in its capital city Jalalabad.

Kidnappers planned to abduct Sayed Halim from third sector of the city but police arrived on time and arrested the kidnappers with their weapons.
