The inordinate delays in the issuance of the computerised driving licences by the Punjab Traffic Police Office Lahore has irked the applicants, many of whom are complaining about the endless delays in getting their driving licences.

Some of the applicants in Sialkot reported having to wait for over a month, with no news on when they would receive their licences.

Gathered in and around the offices of the DSP traffic in Sialkot, dozens of applicants said that they had passed their driving tests conducted by the local DSP traffic a month ago, but they had still not received their licences.

Some of the applicants said that they had paid the fee for the courier services to Sialkot traffic police officials in a bid to ensure early delivery of their computerised driving licenses at their home addresses. However, more than a month had passed but they were still waiting for their licences. They said that they had visited the local traffic police offices as well as the TCS courier service offices in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Pasrur and surrounding areas to inquire about their driving licences but hadn’t had any luck.

When contacted, the Sialkot based senior traffic police officials said that the delay in issuance of the computerised driving licences was being caused at the Punjab traffic police office Lahore, saying that the Sialkot traffic police officials had repeatedly brought the situation to the notice of the high ups, but that they had taken no steps to remedy the situation.
