Two persons, injured in gas cylinder explosions, died on Tuesday after the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) administration failed to admit them to its burns centre.
The family of the victims staged a protest against the PIMS administration over its non-cooperation and failure to attend the wounded. The family held the PIMS administration responsible for the deaths.
A heavy contingent of police was called in as the situation became worse. The police reached the area and dispersed the demonstrators from the scene.
Six people were injured in a gas cylinder explosion in Rawalpindi and brought to the PIMS. Almost 60 per cent of their bodies had been burnt. The injured were neither provided space at the burns centre, nor treatment.
