After the success of pilot project launched in 10 police stations of Lahore, the decision has been made to replicate the project in 141 police stations of five districts including Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan.
This was decided by Inspector General of Police Punjab Mushtaq Sukhera while presiding over a high-level meeting held at Central Police Office here on Tuesday. It was also decided in the meeting that civilian boys and girls specialized in Information Technology would be hired through proper channel for this project. Later, master trainers of the Police Department would also give them 45 days police training. The meeting also reviewed the working of Complaint Handling Centre (CHC) of CPO. It was decided to evolve a comprehensive strategy to stop the lodging of fake FIRs, nomination of innocent people in these FIRs, their arrests and detentions. It was also decided that the process of the police human resource would be completed in phases and first of all, the data of city will be completed. The meeting also discussed the various proposals to change the color of the police uniform. AIG Logistics told the IGP that samples in this regard would be produced next week. While discussing the progress of ATM cards to be issued for the widows of police employees to get their scholarships, the meeting was briefed that after the clearance of various banks, these cards would be issued by the end of this month. The meeting also reviewed a proposal to shift all other financial benefits for widows to the system of ATM.
