Foreign exchange reserves cross $21b: Dar

Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has said that foreign exchange reserves have increased for the first time to more than 21 billion dollars.

In an interview, he said the government wanted to bring the non-filers into tax net and soon a package would be announced for them. He urged the non-filers to come under the tax net and contribute in the economic prosperity of the country.

He said the government wanted credible strategic partners for only 26 per cent core business of Pakistan International Airlines. He said that the step was aimed at improving efficiency and enhancing the business of the national airline making it a profit earning entity.

He said the government allocated one hundred billion rupees for Zarb-e-Azb in the current year budget and rehabilitation of the people of the area affected by the operation.
