Enraged locals take to streets against gas outage in various cities

Residents in various cities of the country on Tuesday staged a protest against prolonged gas load shedding in winter season.

People took to the streets in Rawalpindi’s Dhamial, Ahmadabad and Quaid-e-Azam Colony areas to record their demonstration against the government for not ensuring basic facilities. They said that they have been facing gas outage for a long time and it has badly disrupted their daily routines.

The enraged natives, including the supporters of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), blocked the roads and chanted slogans against the government. However, the situation intensified as police personnel tried to disperse the protesters.

Separately in Multan, gas-stricken locals burned tyres at Khooni Burj Chowk and staged a sit-in. They lashed out at Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) officials and warned them that they would not be paying their gas bills if the government fails to address their reservations.

On the other hand, restaurants have also been forced to use wood to make food. The number of customers has also increased because people are not able to prepare their meals at home.
