Crows are social

This morning the scribe observed a peculiar phenomenon while sitting on a bench in CC-Park, DHA, Lahore. A crow located an empty juice carton on the ground. It methodically sipped from it and then crowed to call its companions. More crows gathered around the caller and waited patiently for the caller to finish his food but did not partake in it till the first crow left the cup and moved away. Then one by one they took part in having a sip from the cup in an orderly fashion. How different it is with the lions and even humans who are selfish and anti-social in finding food and try to partake it alone without sharing it with others.

The behaviour of lion is shown by the National Geographic when the lion snatches the prey from a cheetah and runs away from its own young progeny to feed itself. The crow being highly social is very successful in survival as a species. Crows are always quoted as very intelligent beings but the social attitude seen by the scribe in crows is a remarkable phenomenon, unfortunately not seen even in humans when they find food.
