Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has said that corruption brigade in Sindh wants to fail law enforcers in restoration of peace in Karachi.
The PAT leader who reached Allama Iqbal International Airport from Canada via Turkey Tuesday was talking to the media at the airport. Qadri said that Pakistan still is in a quagmire of issues like before. Corruption is weakening the base of the country, he added.
Dr Qadri said that corrupt influential persons are favouring and protecting fellow culprits. He said that terror acts are funded by corruption in the country.
Dr Tahirul Qadri said Pakistan was being run like a private business with rampant corruption eating into the country.
There are signs that the rulers are behind terrorism in Sindh and the federal government is in sync with Sindh. Similarly, there are signs that point to the ruling party for corruption at federal level, he noted.
“Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are putting corruption under wraps,” he said adding the collusion between the ruling parties in Sindh and center is bringing about the economic devastation in the country.
This connivance is dealing a blow to the counter-terrorism operation of Pakistan’s armed forces, he added.
“We will continue fighting for the restoration of peace and justice in the country,” the PAT chief vowed.
Dr. Qadri said Pakistan’s armed forces are combating terrorism but their efforts are being hampered with the help of conditions in Sindh.
He vowed to continue efforts to uplift the oppressed and struggle against oppression.
Commending the role of Rangers in Karachi peace, he also asked the paratroopers to do the same in Punjab too, saying, “At least 14 bodies and over 100 wounded (of Model Town tragedy) are awaiting Rangers in Punjab.”
Qadri said that Model Town tragedy saw innocent citizens butchered to death, adding that they will never compromise on justice for the martyrs. He further said that people behind the Model Town massacre will be hanged and promised to avenge assassination of each Model Town victim.
Dr. Tahirul Qadri will address the International Milad Conference at Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore on the night of December 23.
