PIA initiates inquiry after woman travelled to UAE on son’s passport

PIA wants to recover 5,000 dirhams it paid in fines to UAE authorities

Pakistan International Airline (PIA) management taking action over the issue of travelling of a woman on her son’s passport from Lahore to Dubai has served show cause notice to the concerned employee and initiated inquiry into the incident.

Upon detection of the irregularity, the woman was deported by immigration authorities of the UAE and a fine of 5,000 dirhams was imposed on PIA.

PIA has also taken up the matter with Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) as the concerned passenger was also cleared by immigration authorities on the same passport.

As the incident caused embarrassment to the airline, PIA has decided to take appropriate action against the guilty persons and also to recover the amount it paid as fine.
