SIU of Islamabad police bust gang of dacoits

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad Police has busted an inter-provincial gang of four involved in looting those citizens who withdrew their money from banks and also involved in murder, a police spokesman said.

He said that senior police officials directed SP (Investigation) Muhammad Ilyas to ensure arrest of those involved in robbing citizens of their cash after bank withdrawals. Following these directions, a team was constituted headed by DSP CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon including Inspector Muhammad Ashraf Rana, Sub-Inspector Mansha Hussain, ASIs Tajamul Hussain, Asif Khan and others. This team arrested four gangsters involved in dacoity incidents and recovered three 9mm pistols, 30 rounds, Suzuki Mehran car, one bike and five veils from their possession.

They have been identified as Samad, Abdullah, Mehboob Alam and Kamran. They committed several dacoities in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi. During the preliminary investigation, they revealed that chased people who withdrew cash and then looted them at gun point in a deserted place.

A citizen Zohaib was killed by them in a firing while three other citizens were injured by them in Islamabad.
