Private university’s chief executive Adil Masood Butt’s laptop was sent to forensic laboratory on Saturday while another five laptops were seized from arrested terrorists’ facilitators.
Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) had nabbed a private university’s chief executive among four in alleged facilitation of banned outfit’s operatives. Investigations of the apprehended terrorists are underway.
In the latest development, five laptops have been seized on indication of the arrested facilitators. Law enforcers have said that key documents have been recovered from the personal computers.
Sources said that the data also identifies the international network of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). A list of Tanzeem-i-Islami’s disenchanted members has also been recovered. Alleged terrorist, Khalid Yousaf Bari’s laptop contains extensive information about funding of the banned outfit.
Bari’s wife had established an educational institution called Al-Zikra University.
Adil Masood Butt was apprehended by the Counter-Terrorism Department on December 2.
The law enforcers had arrested the well-educated chief executive in a raid on the university while the rest of the three alleged extremists were nabbed later on. Butt revealed that the terrorist involved in Safoora carnage, Saad Aziz was his ‘business partner’.
