Police in Islamabad on Saturday registered a First Information Report (FIR) against a three-year-old kid in the land-grabbing and theft case.
As per details, three-year-old Muhammad Usman was charged with land-grabbing and theft. An FIR was registered against him and his uncle by Inspector Michael Gul at Shalimar Police Station.
Afterwards, the minor’s family members reached the district court in F-8 sector to seek his bail before arrest.
Talking to media outside the court, Usman’s uncle said that he opened a restaurant in F-10 in Usman’s name. He said the complaint of alleged land grabbing and theft was filed by Jamaat-e-Islami worker Khalid Mirza.
The minor Muhammad Usman, in whose name the restaurant was opened was charged with theft and an FIR registered against him.
The case highlighted how Pakistan’s notoriously corrupt police force often trump up false charges either to extract bribes or because they have been paid off. They register FIRs without looking into the genuineness of the case.
