At least three people were apprehended as residents foiled a bid of donkey slaughter in Ferozwala on Saturday.
People living in slum areas were slaughtering a donkey when locals stopped them and took them to the police after brutal torture. They alleged that the suspects used to sell donkey meat to the hotels.
Police have launched an investigation into the matter. Earlier, police on a tip off foiled an attempt of donkey-slaughter in Sahiwal and apprehended as many as three suspects.
The incident took place when a local informed the police about donkey slaughter bid in Sahiwal’s Railway Colony. Police officers took at least three suspects including a woman into custody.
Separately in Kasur, security personnel recovered a truck full of donkey hides and arrested a suspect identified as Arshad. The hides were being taken to Lahore.
Glad the locals turned in these people who were slaughtering this poor donkey. I hope they will prosecute them to the fullest.
