Dozens of illegal appointments have been made in NADRA. According to documents obtained by Online, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has appointed Kamal Aziz, 63, the brother of PM’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, on a contract for three years on a key post in the authority in total disregard of rules and regulations.
According to sources and the documents, Nisar has also appointed 65-year-old man, identified as Naveed H. Malik, is violation of the NADRA Ordinance.
The interior minister appointed another personal friend, Tariq Akbar, in NADRA who was already working as additional secretary in the ministry of interior.
Moreover, on the recommendations of Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Federal Interior Minister has appointed Samad Khurram, whose educational qualification is just graduation, as incharge of the voters’ verification cell in NADRA.
It is important to mention here that Samad Khurram was leading election campaign of Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq during re-polls NA-122 constituency.
Samad Khurram, whose salary is worth of Rs. 2,10,000 per month, participates in key meetings of the authority which indicts he has special influence in NADRA.
Chaudhry Nisar has appointed a controversial person Syed Muzafar Ali as incharge of voter lists; one of the most sensitive posts in the authority.PTI has raised the issue of appointment of Syed Muzafar Ali on key post in the NADARA.
Sources said PM Nawaz Sharif has taken notice of appointments on political ground in the most sensitive department of the country and it is expected that PM house likely to order for investigation into the matter.
