A federal anti-corruption court on Thursday confirmed bail of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in 10 cases of billion-dollar TDAP scandal.

Gilani, who is facing corruption charges in TDAP scandal, appeared before the court along with his supporters. The court confirmed bail of the former premier and adjourned the hearing till December 28.

Later talking to media outside the anti-corruption court, Gilani severely criticised the National Accountability Bureau, saying it should send apology for serving him five-year imprisonment in a case he was later acquitted.

“The NAB sentenced me five-year imprisonment in a case I was later acquitted and became prime minister. Did the NAB offer apology for its conduct? No. Instead, they are still sending me notices,” Gilani said.

Over Karachi law and order situation, the former PM said his party wanted to bring peace in the city, adding that it was the PPP government which had launched military operations in Malakand and South Waziristan. “We will continue to support military operation for elimination of terrorism,” he said. He assured that the PPP was serious in carrying out the Karachi operation.

Yousaf Raza urged the incumbent provincial authorities to continue indiscriminate operation against the criminal elements in Karachi. He advised the opponents to negotiate with the government in order to overcome their reservations regarding Karachi operation.

  1. Badnaam bhi honge to kya naam na hoga ? A former PM facing almost two dozen "Corruption" cases. 10 decided in his favour – by Kangroo Courts like did Mr 10% – yet many more are pending. Corruption cases are also pending in NAB which have not been touched as yet. In a 'democratic' set-up, a person facing so much of an ambarrassment would have committed suecide. But Paksitani leaders are Chikna Gharas.
