The employees of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) held a protest demonstration here in Abpara Chouk on Thursday.
Hundreds of employees of the CDA including central office-bearers of the CDA Mazdoor Union and some labour leaders of various Labour Unions of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, who came in sympathy to the employees of CDA, participated in the protest.
CDA Mazdoor Union’s leader Ch Muhammad Yaseen said that CDA in the wake of Local Government elections held in Islamabad proposed to be divided while the workers are at unrest due to non-protection of their guaranteed rights. He said the present administration of the CDA is not taking adequate steps for the satisfaction of its employees because of non-implementation of their agreed demands under the law, i.e. regularization of daily-wage/muster roll employees, employment of CDA employees’ sons, which has indeed adversely resulted in causing serious anxiety amongst work force.
