Transporters demand special powers to Rangers

All Pakistan Oil Tankers Owners Association’s (APOTOA) Chairman Haji Muhammad Akram Durani and All Sindh Dumpers Owners Association’s (ASDOA) President Haji Abdul Yousuf on Wednesday threatened the Sindh government of suspending oil supply and construction material for an indefinite period if it delays extension of special powers to Rangers.

Talking to PPI, the representatives of both the associations urged the government to give unconditional powers to Rangers for betterment of Karachi on urgent basis. The leaders said they felt secure and safe after the Rangers led operation in Karachi.

They said Karachi is the economic hub of Pakistan; therefore it would be necessary to extend the special powers of Rangers for the sake of peace in city. They threatened government not to ignore the city’s peace for its political interests; otherwise, they would park their tankers and dumper-trucks in protest against it and stage a sit-in before the Chief Minister’s House.
