Islamabad Golra Police on Tuesday recovered a house maid and her husband from the basement of a house in sector E-11; they had been shackled by their owners for demanding the salary.
According to details, Golra police received a tip-off that two shackled persons were being kept in a house following which, the police raided House no 8, Street no 32 in sector E-11/3.
The police team recovered Shazia Bibi and her husband Tariq Ali, residents of Chinniot from the basement of the house. Police nabbed the house owner Shagufta Shahid and her son Jabran and it was revealed that they had shackled them and confined them in the basement of the house over demanding salary from them. They were earlier residing in the servants’ quarter. Shazia Bibi’s husband was a labourer and used to stay there with his wife.
SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani praised the performance of Golra police and directed to ensure immediate action on public complaints.
