Sacrifices of APS martyrs not to go waste: CM

American Consul General Zachary Harkenrider called on Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Wednesday.
Matters of mutual interest and promotion of cooperation in different sectors were discussed in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the Pakistani nation is fully united to rid the country of the menace of terrorism. He said that the martyrs of Army Public School have given a new courage to the nation. He said the enemies of humanity who target innocent children deserve no leniency and terrorists are being wiped out with full force.
Sharif said that people of Pakistan have rendered supreme sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He said that children of Army Public School Peshawar have written a new history of courage and bravery in the war against terrorism and the blood of innocent children will not go waste. He said that terrorists and their facilitators will be brought to their logical end. The chief minister said that all-out measures are being taken to set up a society based on tolerance, restraint and moderation in Pakistan. He said Pakistan and America have common views regarding promotion of peace and tolerance. He said Pakistan fully appreciates the increasing cooperation of America in energy sector. American Consul General Zachary Harkenrider said that the sacrifices of Pakistan in the war against terrorism cannot be forgotten. He said America shares the grief of the bereaved families of martyrs of Army Public School Peshawar.
Meanwhile, Sharif has saluted the martyrs of the Army Public School Peshawar and said that these students and their teachers are the heroes of the nation.
He said that due to supreme sacrifices of the martyrs of APS Peshawar, an unprecedented national unity has been witnessed in the war against terrorism and a joint strategy was evolved against terrorists. He said that under the National Action Plan, devised with national consensus, a decisive war is being fought against terrorists and terrorism, extremism and sectarianism will be rooted out from the country on permanent basis.
Sharif said that the brutal elements that killed innocent children are finding no place to hide and no effort will be spared to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country. He said that there is no room for terrorism, extremism and sectarianism in the Pakistan of Quaid-e-Azam.
He said that setting up of a society based on tolerance and moderation is the mission of the government and terrorists and their facilitators will be rooted out. He said that the blood of the martyrs is a debt on the nation and it will be repaid through wiping out terrorists from the country. He said that the nation today paid rich tributes to the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs of APS.
The chief minister said that the central ceremony held in Peshawar was a message of unity and solidarity of the whole nation in the war against terrorism. He said that the ceremony was of vital importance for the promotion of national solidarity. He said that the scourge of terrorism will be eradicated from the country with unprecedented unity of 180 million people of the country.
