CPURTESY IANS Winters are finally here and it’s time to pull out your favourite stoles and shawls. Many of us just wait to wear the Pashmina shawls throughout the year. But what we don’t know is that this finest cashmere wool requires a lot protection and storing them with naphthalene balls or cake will ruin them. These shawls need to be handled with care. Here are some tips Indian fashion expert, Bhuvan Ahuja suggests you note: 1. Always dry-clean your shawl. They are too fine to take any kind of wringing or rubbing. 2. Always store them wrapped in muslin cloth or a protective case. Storing them away in plastic covers is not advisable as it might lead to lint or balling of loose yarns on the top surface. 3. Do not store these shawls with naphthalene balls or cakes. 4. Keep them away from any kind of moisture. 5. Indulge in professional restoration once every few years. 6. Iron on low heat and use a protective cloth in between. 7. Always dry flat.
