Rally taken out to pay tribute to APS martyrs

 

The Operation Zarb-e-Azb launched by the Pakistan Army to eradicate terrorism is going on successfully and it is the national duty of every citizen to keep a vigilant eye on their surroundings and point out terrorists and their facilitators so that law enforcement agencies could deal them with iron hands, Punjab Chief Minister’s Health Advisor Khawaja Salman Rafiq said on Monday, speaking to participants of a rally arranged by the Amiruddin Medical College to pay tribute to the martyrs of Peshawar’s Army Public School.

Prominent among those took part in the walk were Post-graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Khalid Mehmood, Lahore General Hospital medical superintendent Capt (r) Dr Niaz Ahmed, DG Nursing Nusrat Saeeda, Mayo Hospital Nursing School Principal Kauser Parveen, medical students and a large number of people.

Addressing the participants, Rafiq said the whole nation, army and other law enforcement agencies were united to eliminate terrorists from the country and make Pakistan prosperous and developed.

He said the steps taken by the Punjab government to eliminate terrorism from the country were laudable, adding that both at national and provincial-level the National Action Plan was being fully implemented. Rafiq recalled that Provincial Home Minister Col (r) Shuja Khanzada had also given his life in this noble mission and the nation would remember him for a long time.

PGMI Principal Khalid Mahmood said that bravery and courage of the students of Army Public School was unprecedented who had written a history by sacrificing their lives for the country and given a message to the terrorist that no one could defeat the Pakistani nation.

The walk started from the PGMI, Birdwood Road and concluded at Shadman Chowk. The participants were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of the army and law-enforcement agencies. They expressed determination to extend full support to army in the battle against terrorists.
