Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Haider Jamali on Monday submitted another affidavit in the Sindh High Court to avoid indictment in the contempt of court case.
In his affidavit, Ghulam Haider Jamali requested the court not to indict him in the case and withdraw the show-cause notice issued to him. He also urged the court to listen to him and other police officials before any further proceedings in the case.
The affidavit will now be submitted before a two-member bench headed by Justice Ahmed Ali M. Sheikh today (Tuesday).
Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Haider Jamali and others were charged in contempt of court case for the siege of the high court’s building and torture on the former home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza‘s guards and media men by commandos of the Special Security Unit (SSU) on March 23.
The policemen had also smashed several parked vehicles and snatched cameras from journalists in the court premises.
