Eight murder convicts executed in Punjab Jails

At least eight murder convicts were hanged on Tuesday in different cities of Punjab, local media reported.

According to local media, two murder convicts were executed in Multan Central Jail. Convict Manzoor Hussain had killed his wife after she demanded divorce in 2003, while convict Muhammad Tahir was convicted of killing a man in the same year.

Hanging of death row convict Abdul Waheed was halted after the two parties reached an agreement.

Two murder convicts were also executed in New Central Jail Bahawalpur. Death row convict Aziz-ur-Rehman had killed three people over a petty issue in 2002 while, Akhtar Ali had murdered a woman over resistance during robbery bid.

Other than that, two murder convicts wereexecuted in district jail Gujrat, two were hanged in Dera Ghazi Khan and two in Attock Central Jails, separately.

Execution of Saeed Ahmed was halted in Dera Ghazi Khan Central Jail after agreement between two parties while, after stay orders from the court, hanging of Gul Jahan and Qaisar Abbas was halted at Mianwali and Gujranwala Central Jails respectively.

  1. What is this "agreement between two parties." A murder is a crime against the state and the state is the other party. Get over these pre-Islamic arabian traditions as adopted in Islam and let the state decide who is right or wrong
