Director General Sindh Rangers on Monday pledged to restore peace in Karachi in collaboration with police.
Speaking at a ceremony held in connection with Boxing Championship Lyari, once the most troubled neighborhood of the city, Director General Sindh Rangers Major Bilal Akbar said his troops would restore peace soon.
“There is no scarcity of talent in Lyari as youngsters of the neighborhood have hoisted Pakistan’s flag across the world,” he said.
Addressing the people of Lyari at the Football Ground, he said the paramilitary force in collaboration with Karachi police would establish peace with the help of sportsmen of the area.
The Rangers have been stripped of their policing powers as Sindh government decided to get approval of their stay and special powers from the provincial assembly.
