Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Monday inaugurated the 52.8 MW Sapphire Wind Power Project in Jimpir Thatta.
The minister while congratulating the Sapphire Wind Power Company Ltd. on achievement of commercial operation of its power projects said that the case was an excellent example and could be showcased as a model for other to follow. He commended all the stakeholders for achieving the milestone.
The minister said that Pakistan’s southern corridor affords great opportunities for wind energy projects. He said that the government had come up with investor-friendly policies and, therefore, the sector was a lot more attractive for potential investors.
Minister of State Abid Sher was also present on the occasion.
The minister and MoS visited various segments of the power project. They were briefed by the project management on various aspects of the energy project.
