A terrorist belonging to a banned outfit was killed, while his three cohorts managed to escape, as police recovered arms and explosives during an operation on Sunday.
A policeman was also injured in the exchange of fire.
According to details, the police and the law enforcement agencies’ personnel launched a joint operation and raided a hideout of extremists near Safdarabad area of district Sheikhupura.
The extremists started firing at police and injured a cop which led to an encounter. In the ensuing cross-fire one terrorist of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was killed while his three accomplices fled the scene.
The joint team recovered huge cache of arms and explosives materials from the hideout. Security sources said that the terrorists were involved in terror activities and were planning a major terrorist act.
