Rawalpindi Police has ordered security audits of all govt and private schools and according to the SOP; instructions have been issued to the educational institutions to raise the height of the boundary walls of educational institutions also to install barbed wires.
They have also been asked them to keep only one entry and exit point to avoid unauthorized people. In addition SDPO and SHOs have been asked to patrol their areas during school timings.
According to details after the completion of one year of the Peshawar School tragedy, a SOP has been further updated by the CPO Rawalpindi Asrar Abbasi, in which educational institutions have been further instructions to improve the security arrangements.
They have also been asked that security guards should deploy and they should have complete training of weapons usage. It is worth mentioning that some security agencies have recruited aged or untrained people to earn money and they do not have the experience of weapons firing or providing security to the children.
In addition the SHOs have been asked to once again remind the head of institutions to keep their mobile Sims switched on so that if there was an emergency, they could be in touch with the authorities.
Security sources say that that the terrorists are finding it difficult to target the important and highly security targets and they fear that the anti state elements could strike at soft targets like educational institutions, particularly when the nation is going to observe the first death anniversary of terrorists attack at APS Peshawar on Wednesday.
