NAB widens scope of investigation against Dr Asim

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has widened its scope of investigation against Dr Asim Hussain, and is now investigating Hussain’s alleged link with the registration of fake medical colleges with the PMDC in return for heavy bribe.

To obtain more proof, NAB has also started an investigation against Dr Amjad who was the Registrar at Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) during the days of Dr Asim Hussain.

According to sources, Karachi NAB DG approached the Rawalpindi NAB DG. Sources said that on the direction of Dr Asim, Dr Amjad had registered a large number of fake medical colleges.

Sources further said that Dr Amjad is currently posted as the head of the PIMS Children Hospital. Rawalpindi NAB has obtained important evidence from PMDC and the investigation against Dr Amjad would be carried out on the basis of that record.

According to these sources, Dr Amjad had earlier tried to obtain the post of the Islamabad Poly Clinic Executive Director but the then minister of State CADD Barrister Usman had rejected the summary because there were serious allegations of corruption against him.
