Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said on Sunday that there should be no politics over the extension issue, adding heavens would not fall if there was a delay in extending the powers of the paramilitary force by a couple of days.

He said this while talking to media after showering rose petals and offering prayers at the graves of Bhutto leaders in Garhi Khuda Bux.

The chief minister that said within a few days the Rangers issue would be resolved. He said that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali did not appreciate the sacrifices made by 400 officers from the Sindh police, while referring to the Rangers actions.

He said that the federal agencies were attacking Sindh and he had made complaints to the prime minister because of it. It was only after the complaints that Chaudhry Nisar had said that NAB and FIA actions would be stopped in Sindh. Chaudhry Nisar has took him into confidence and said that two to three cases will be probed in Sindh by NAB and FIA and then these actions will be discontinued; but they have been continuing their actions since the last six months without any permission, Shah said.

He said that the threat of the video and Dr Asim’s issue were two separate things and should not be inter-linked. He said that the operation in Karachi was started after Zarb-e-Azb’s success to rid the city of terrorists hidden within.

He said that they had not contacted MQM to bring them to the cabinet, adding that MQM has its own policy on the deployment of rangers and its actions. Later, Shah presided over a meeting of the Mazar Committee, which was attended by divisional and district administration officers, and PPP leaders.
