DIG Jails Abdul Rauf Rana said on Sunday that terrorists have no religion and that Pakistan condemns terrorism of every kind.
Talking during a prisoner support programme in Youhanabad, he said that law enforcement agencies are working hard to protect religious minorities in the country.
The DIG jails, addressing the prisoner support program, said that civil society and other stakeholders should join hands to protect the rights of the people. “The terrorist act in Youhanabad is condemnable and we stand with the victims’ families,” Rana said. “Society can grow only if we all stand together to eliminate terrorism.”
Rah e Nijat Ministries President Safder Chaudhry said that his ministry focused on the support of the victims of the Youhanabad incident. Talking on the occasion he said that the ministry had been supporting the families of the prisoners. “We have provided food packages and financial support to these families. It was totally a self support activity and Rah e Nijat Ministry has taken up this initiative on the birthday of Christ Jesus,” Chaudhry said.
The ministry has provided food packages and financial support of Rs 2000 each to forty families of the prisoners. Families of the victims were all present there. Asif Gulzar, brother of Zahid Gulzar appreciated the activity and said that they were grateful to the ministry for the support. “On this Christmas we are missing our family members but we hope that they will be released soon.” Zubaira Bibi, wife of Chand Hameed said that she was left with no one earning hand after the arrest of her husband. She said she felt happy that she could buy new clothes on this Christmas for her children.
