MQM leader slams CM Qaim’s statement about Liaquat Ali Khan

Acting Convener of the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Nadeem Nusrat strongly condemned Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah’s statement about former prime minister Liaquat Ali Khan and said it appeared as a prejudicial behaviour.

In a statement issued from London Secretariat, the MQM leader said that instead of being ashamed for unprecedented corrupt regime, the CM attempted to manipulate the historical facts. He said the former prime minister did not plunder the nation’s wealth like the PPP’s leadership had been doing so far.

Meanwhile, the coordination committee of MQM also slammed the chief minister for his comments. It said the CM deliberately manipulated the facts. It said the former PM inherently received his father Nawab Rustam Ali Khan’s fortune who was one of the wealthiest men of undivided Hindustan.

The committee asserted that Khan did not claim a single inch of land against what he left abandoned in India after partition. It said even at the time of his martyrdom, he merely had Rs 1,200 in his bank account. It said that despite paying respect to their national heroes, the chief minister unfortunately posted a baseless allegation against Liaquat Ali Khan.
