Imran Khan has his Hindustan-dost face on in India, where he is attending a conference.
At one of the events, he expressed hope for the peace process between Pakistan and India. Indian anchor Karan Thapar immediately confronted him with a statement by the PTI’s Shireen Mazari, a known hawk, in which she expressed serious reservations about the process.
Reacting to the tight spot he was immediately put in, he responded by saying that she did not represent the party’s views on foreign affairs and that she was only the party’s…information secretary. Yeah, a hard sell, this defence.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, the Americans say. Well, at the national airline PIA, it seems to be: if it’s broke, don’t fix it.
The general lacklustre state of affairs at the airline, never good at the best of times, have gotten even worse after talk of privatising it have resurfaced. Passengers who have travelled internationally even a couple of weeks apart have noticed the difference.
Perhaps things have gotten so bad that the unions at the PIA are finally going to saw off the branch they are sitting on. Something’s gotta give…
