The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan said on Friday that preparations for the 2016 World T20 in India have been started.
Shahryar added that the women’s cricket team, which will also be representing Pakistan in the event, has the board’s full support.
“The preparations for the World T20 have started. I also wish luck to the women’s team,” said Shahryar, while talking to the media in Lahore. “Well-educated girls are now becoming a part of our national team and we are working for the development of women’s cricket.”
In response to a question regarding the series against India, Shahryar said that they are yet to receive a reply from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
“We will wait over the weekend and after that, the series will automatically be unplayable,” added the PCB chairman. “They [India] have to go to Australia, while we will be visiting New Zealand in January.”
