Over 300 posts in traffic police are lying vacant in the Rawalpindi police.

A senior official told Online that three posts of DSP, 74 inspectors, 219 wardens, 22 drivers and 88 junior wardens were lying vacant amidst serious traffic issues facing the city.

The official said that the current strength was insufficient to cater to the needs of traffic issues in Rawalpindi, as many traffic officials have been deputed to Murree as well, which did not fall under the purview of the city earlier. He said that the sooner the inductions were made the better results will be achieved in terms of traffic management.
