Orders have been issued to reshuffle the staff of all the police stations in district Rawalpindi.
All the police personnel working in all the 29 police stations of district Rawalpindi will be changed within a few days. OSI branch has prepared lists in this regard.
In the first phase of reshuffling constables and head constables will be transferred and later sub inspectors and ASIs will be transferred.
City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Israr Ahmad Khan Abbasi said that some police personnel having been working in the same police station and some are allegedly connected to local criminal elements due to which deterioration has set in the situation in terms of crime rate.
Some police men are receiving salaries despite their long absence from duty. Steps are being taken to detect them. Hence the entire strength of all the police stations is being changed, he added.
