The Federal Interior Ministry on Thursday approved to try Safoora carnage case in military court, constituted after Army Public School Peshawar massacre to prosecute hardened criminals and terrorists cases.

The Sindh government had recommended to federal government to refer Safoora carnage that left 45 people dead to military courts.

It may be pointed out that at least 45 people were brutally killed by gunmen who ambushed a community bus of Ismailis near Safoora Chowrangi, Karachi on May 13 this year. Since then law enforcing agencies have arrested several suspects, including Saad Aziz who is a graduate from IBA, Karachi, in connection with the case.

The move came after pressure from the civil society to try these suspects in military courts, which were set up early this year to prosecute hardened criminals and terrorists.
