President Mamnoon Hussain has said that corruption is greatest menace for any society and without getting rid of this menace no nation can make progress.

The president stated this in wake of International Anti-Corruption Day which was observed on Wednesday.

In his message on the day, Mamnoon Hussain said corruption is antithesis of good governance and negates the ideals of virtue, justice, responsibility, and public service.

He said corruption weakens democratic institutions, undermines the rule of law and enables the terrorists to finance their evil network and activities.

The president urged to join anti-corruption campaign with National Accountability Bureau to build awareness and resolve to end corruption by waging “Jihad” against this evil.

He said the government is fully committed to eliminate corruption and carryout the accountability of the corrupt.
